In 2023, Seth committed fully to growing Loopback Systems and its innovative approach to utility communication, process control, and engineering consulting services that bridge the gap between sophisticated technology and practical business needs.
Chris Premus is a Principal Engineer with over 25 years of technology expertise, specializing in full-stack development, database architecture, and comprehensive data management systems. At Loopback Systems, Chris leverages his deep experience in enterprise-grade systems, industrial control integration, and data visualization to translate complex data into clear, practical insights for utility clients.
Chris lives with his wife Jemma and their daughter Roan. He enjoys tinkering with amateur radio and homelab projects in his spare time, often vetting new technologies personally before recommending their implementation at Loopback.

Prior to founding Loopback Systems, Seth led multimillion-dollar engineering projects at Cabot, growing operations tenfold by streamlining data processing from manual collection to automated systems handling millions of data points per minute.Chris Premus brings over 25 years of technology experience, beginning his career at UPS, a highly data-driven company. He advanced quickly to become a developer in the operational data group where he supported many different stakeholders across the organization. His work primarily focused on serving the industrial engineering group who relied on his technical expertise for operational improvements. These formative years at UPS instilled in Chris a rigorous approach to standards and operational excellence.
Collaboration at Cabot Oil & Gas
After mastering the front end of systems at UPS, Chris made the move to Cabot Oil & Gas in a technology support role. He earned a position in data analytics where he partnered with Seth Hallam after several years at Cabot. At Cabot, Chris became a full stack developer, standing up systems from scratch. Chris specialized in database architecture and comprehensive data management systems throughout this project. He gained valuable exposure to industrial control systems while integrating various operational technologies.Together with Seth, they architected and implemented the comprehensive operations dashboard that transformed Cabot's approach to data management. As a key technical contributor, Chris helped develop the system that transformed questionable, fragmented data into a single source of truth that stakeholders throughout the organization came to rely upon. This achievement created actionable intelligence from data streams and provided visibility into operations.
Founding Loopback Systems
In May 2023, Chris joined Loopback Systems as Principal Engineer, bringing his full stack development expertise to the company's mission of making complex data accessible and actionable. At Loopback, Chris applies his extensive experience in enterprise-grade system development and data visualization to design and implement practical solutions. He is the technical force that brings innovative concepts to life, transforming abstract ideas into functional systems. His technical leadership ensures Loopback's platforms maintain the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and usability while delivering meaningful operational insights to clients.
